Recognizing Pediatric Hereditary Hematologic Malignancies (Feb 2026)

Children with hematologic malignancies (HMs) may have underlying hereditary risk factors that can influence evaluation, treatment, and family counseling, but recognizing these inherited predispositions can be challenging.

This webinar explores the germline origins of pediatric HMs and offers practical guidance for identifying, managing, and referring children with potential hereditary hematologic conditions. The content is designed to support clinicians in integrating genomic insights into pediatric hematology–oncology care, improving early recognition of inherited predispositions, and facilitating appropriate genetic evaluation and counseling for affected families.

Presentation by Serine Avagyan, MD, PhD (UCSF), who is joined for a moderated panel discussion and live Q&A with Jessica Pollard, MD (Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center) and genetic counselor Sara Torres-Esquius, MS, CGC (Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology - Barcelona).
